Madam, – While your pages have printed objections to the building of a National Children’s Hospital, it is disappointing that a statement from the professional body representing all paediatricians in the country has not been accorded the same exposure, (Home News, October 13th). To summarise for your readers, those professionals support the building of the national children’s hospital as planned. The onus for those who object to it is not to compare it to a pipe dream somewhere on the M50, but to demonstrate that a national children’s hospital is inferior to the current arrangement. Clearly Irish, not just Dublin, paediatricians believe it is a superior choice, not for personal reasons but because they are convinced that Irish children will benefit from this facility. – Yours, etc,
