Madam, – Well done to Mary Raftery for her piece on Tony Walsh and the need to publish the missing chapter of the Murphy report (Opinion, December 7th). Is there anyone who doesn’t agree that the whole truth must come out?
Trying to rebuild a church on lies and cover-ups or to carry on as usual with bishops and others hiding the fact they failed to save children from continued sexual abuse is nonsense. I suggest the Minister for Foreign Affairs expels the Papal Nuncio as an indication that we are not prepared to host a church that refuses to remove from leadership those who have been shown to be inept and uncaring and have shown no compassion for the most vulnerable among us. What good are these people to any of us? Send the guilty to prison or to the Vatican, as it would save us the cost of housing them in these stringent times. – Yours, etc,
