Sir, - This morning the "millennium candle" was delivered to my home.
As it is too late to re-direct the monies spent on these candles to the poorest or neediest in our country, I suggest that we all post these candles back, "return to sender", and let the Government know how we feel about how they have spent hard earned taxpayers' money.
Attractive as the candle is, it is impossible to look at it without thinking of how the million pounds spent on it could have helped many less fortunate groups in our society.
