Madam, - It was good to see from your report of November 23rd that St Fintan's High School is entirely blameless in the matter of Mr Bryan McFadden and those on whose behalf his lyricist lyricised with such feeling.

"Warped" they were, however, and the question is: Who did it? The full effects of such warping can only be imagined, but to write lyrics like that is some clue to their depth and gravity. It is a serious question, therefore, and I hope you will pursue it to the end.

Clearly, the culprits must be sought among the entire milieu of those young people's upbringing. The media, under the godfatherly leadership of The Irish Times, are only a part of that milieu, but they are a part that, I hope, you will not seek to exonerate without the most searching examination.

As for Mr Max Clifford, he has only lately arrived on the scene, but it is hardly to be expected that he will do much to unwarp them. - Yours, etc.,
