Sir, - What part of the word "yes" do the self-styled "Real IRA" not understand? Nationalists and republicans voted in huge numbers for the Good Friday Agreement both North and South. The "Real IRA" have no mandate from anyone for their continued existence. Who or what do they represent? There can be no condoning and no excuse for what this group of fanatics did over the weekend in Omagh and any attempt at excuses should be given the contempt it deserves.
My heart goes out to the people of Omagh in their suffering. As a community, North and South, we must ensure that no assistance of any kind is given to the perpetrators of this horror and no credibility given to their political fellow-travellers either.
