Sir, - The paramilitaries who have been disowned by their parent groups are clearly illegitimate. This illegitimacy was emphasised in Saturday's cowardly attack in Omagh. I, the grandson of both Roman Catholic and Church of Ireland families, recognise that the peace process has been a heroic struggle, in which those who seek violence for the sake of violence have no place.
