A chara, – This week I had the fortunate privilege of presenting our company and its products to Bank of America at its New York office. While our firm already has significant US customers, such as Nike HP, we would have been waiting a long time to present to Bank of America without Enterprise Ireland’s assistance. For those not familiar with Bank of America, it is ranked fifth in the Fortune list, ie, it is the fifth largest firm in the US.

I cannot stress enough how pivotal Enterprise Ireland is in helping companies grow abroad. Today VigiTrust and 20 plus other firms got a chance to present to, and meet key decision-makers in Bank of America, and its tech partners such as CISCO, IBM and EMC.

Our new Tánaiste, Eamon Gilmore, finished the day with a refreshing message about the currently overlooked positive aspects of our economy, including our exports growth. As a country, we can only sell so much domestically, so exports are crucial to our recovery. In this regard, the work of Enterprise Ireland is critical, as is the help ministers bring when they visit and present to business leaders abroad.

So before talk-shows and tabloids slag off government agencies and ministerial visits, please note that they make a difference, a serious difference, and I would hope the public would come to realise this. – Is mise,
