Sir, – I read and hear of the Government seeking “longer hours” for the same pay under the current Croke Park Agreement extension talks. It is no wonder the pending discussions with the unions appear likely to be difficult.
What the Government is seeking is an impossibility! Why? Because an hour is universally and scientifically defined as 60 minutes and cannot be lengthened to say, 65 minutes!
Surely the Government should be seeking additional working hours for the same pay? Media broadcasters and journalists please note! – Yours, etc,
