Sir, – In relation to Rob Fairmichael’s letter regarding violence in video games (April 25th), I’d like to offer a positive story on the subject.

In the same edition, on the Front page, there was an article about alleged sexual abuse and rape by a priest. He was being protected by the church and the State to the point where your paper wasn’t even allowed to name him.

I was so frustrated that I felt like getting sick. Instead I put on a boxing game. After half an hour of simulated face-punching I was finally back to normal. The tension was completely gone and I no longer felt the urge to go out and beat up any members of the clergy.

If that’s not a positive advertisement for violent video games I don’t know what is. – Yours, etc,
