Madam, - The Irish Timesreported extensively on the murder of Latvian mother of two Baiba Saulite. The brutal killing of this young woman has sent shockwaves across this country and created an outpouring of sympathy from the Irish people and the Latvian community here for Baiba Saulite's two little sons and her family in Latvia.
As Baiba Saulite's grieving family and sons struggle to come to terms with the loss of their daughter, sister and mother, we wish to convey our deepest appreciation and gratitude to the Irish people for their support and expressions of sympathy to Baiba Saulite's young sons and her family in Latvia. We believe that, at a time of such profound grief, these expressions of sympathy will help in some way to alleviate their pain and give the next of kin emotional strength in the days ahead.
We wish to thank An Garda Síochána and especially the Swords police officers for the thorough investigation they have launched to find the perpetrators of this horrific crime. We also thank the Irish police, social workers and the local church leaders for the support and assistance they have provided to Baiba Saulite's family and the three witnesses of this attack.
