Sir, - With the return of daylight during the daily commute into and out of the city, a disturbing phenomenon has been revealed - the alarming encroachment of ugly verdure onto our neat piles of garbage that line the roadways.
I sincerely hope that both Kildare and Dublin County Councils (or whatever the latter calls itself nowadays) will have gangs of men with chainsaws deployed forthwith to remove this unsightly growth before we get an unwarranted reputation for tidiness and cleanliness among our foreign visitors.
