Ireland of the clampers

Madam, - The other day I bumped into a pair of French tourists in a state of shock after their trip to Galway city.

Madam, - The other day I bumped into a pair of French tourists in a state of shock after their trip to Galway city.

They had parked in a car park and when they came back 30 minutes later their meter time had run out by a few minutes and their car had been clamped. An attendant came over to them and would only release the car after a cash payment of €85.

If Ireland thinks that this is an appropriate way to welcome visitors, I would certainly advise everyone to stay away. As an Irish citizen living overseas, I am deeply saddened by the way some people treat our friends from abroad. - Yours, etc,
