Sir, - As a daily reader of your newspaper, I must take this opportunity to congratulate your Environment Correspondent, Frank McDonald, on the excellent article about the ravages to Courtown and its environs (June 19th). Will lessons ever be learnt?
However, he mentioned a number of new-name estates in the area including Ardamine Grove. While there are new houses being built on the site, I assure you that Ardamine Grove has been in existence for 20 years, deriving its name from the townland of Ardamine and a beautiful grove of natural woodland which has miraculously escaped the JCB and the chainsaw.
I have been living in Ardamine Grove for the past 18 years, so the news that I and my fellow residents are living in a brand new estate came as something of a surprise to us. - Yours, etc., Nuala Smith,
