Getting shirty

Sir, – No longer in the first flush of youth, I can relate to the issues raised by Paddy Logue ("Does my self-esteem look small in this shirt?", Life, April 8th). One fine morning after Christmas, I set out to procure a brace of new business shirts. Did I want modern fit, comfort fit, business fit or slim fit? Would I perhaps like an extra few centimetres in the sleeve? Hours later, I escaped – shirtless but with what remained of my dignity intact and my wallet unopened. Lesson learned. – Yours, etc,

FRANK BYRNE,

Terenure,
