Sir, - With regard to Vincent Browne's column of July 22nd, I believe that all members of the Roman Catholic Church have a right to know whether there is any truth to the African Rights Group's assertion that Rome is sheltering clergy suspected of complicity in the Rwandan genocide. When such an appalling assertion has been made, it is beyond belief that the Vatican has not replied with whatever is the truth.
I call upon the Roman Catholic bishops of Ireland to demand a reply from the Vatican. How they can hope to keep any person of Christian conviction within the Church if they do not do so, I cannot imagine. - Yours, etc., M. Blackley,
