Sir, - Where is our lovely Irish language going? I was watching the weather forecast on TnaG recently, and saw the word "Gala" on the map. Is that the new Irish for gales? I hope I'm wrong because if I'm right, surely that is pidgin English.
It reminds me of a signpost to the docks which I saw in Galway some years ago. It read: Na Doccana! Words fail me! - Yours, etc.,
