Sir, - Can anyone explain why golfers remain free to stride across their golf courses, while it is deemed too risky to let lesser mortals walk in country areas in the same vicinity?

Are we confident that the wild animals which are at risk are sufficiently prescient to "keep off the grass?"

Surely, even if golfing is restricted to only the members of a course, they are just as likely to be contaminated as their next-door neighbours. - Yours, etc.,
