Sir, In your constituency profile of May 30th on the Wicklow constituency, you mention that I have "publicly endorsed" the candidature of Mr George Jones.
It is important that this rather bald statement should be corrected immediately. It would be electorally unfair to leave it as stated, which I'm sure neither you nor your reporter intended.
I was invited by George Jones's team to be photographed with him, and told the Constituency Chairperson that I would do so, and would also happily do the same with the other Fine Gael candidates, Billy Timmins and Tom Honan, if asked. In the statement which was issued by Mr Jones's team, I made sure they included the whole Fine Gael team. - Yours, etc.,
