Sir, - We write with reference to comments made by Ellen Mongan (member of Tuam Travellers Education and Development Group) in Lorna Siggins's article "A city dump is no place for humans to live" (December 15th). The article concerns an eviction which took place from the Hillside site on November 27th. Three traveller families were being forced to move to a clearly inadequate site alongside Galway city dump.It is with great dismay that we note Ellen's comments regarding what apparently she deems to be the silence of the Galway Travellers' Support Group in condemning the violence which took place on that day.
