Sir, - I agree with Dr Garret FitzGerald that part of the Light Rail Transport system will have to be underground in the centre of the city. On April 10th, 1969, I wrote on "High buildings in Dublin", in The Irish Times:
"it is time that Dublin took a long, scientific look at its own communications and methods of commuter traffic. The old idea of an underground ... is something which should now be seriously considered." That was 27 years ago.
Things have got a little worse since then! - Yours, etc.
