Sir, - Having been a very frequent traveller around the world using Dublin Airport now for 40 years, I think only praise should be given to Aer Rianta and the Government departments concerned for its achievements. Surely the authorities should be praised for the progress that has been made.

Forty years ago, it was a typical provincial European airport. Now it may be favourably compared with any airport in the world with its excellent access, fine parking short term under cover direct to a modern, spacious, clean, efficiently run terminal, providing all the facilities one would expect of an international airport.

This includes what many lack - good, clean seating for passengers, both collecting visitors and those departing the country. Just try to find a seat in Jan Smuts or J. F. Kennedy, for example, or even an adequate snack, and one realises just how fortunate we are to be able to start our international flights with such excellent facilities.

Let's give credit where credit is due, and be proud of what all concerned have done under what has been a difficult last 30 years, both politically and financially, for planning ahead. - Yours, etc.,
