Sir, – The Irish Times reports a recent visit to Trinity College Dublin by Richard Dawkins under the headline "Children need to be protected from religious indoctrination, says Dawkins" (Home News, February 25th).
In a recent Twitter exchange with Dawkins, one user said she would be faced with “a real ethical dilemma” if she became pregnant with a baby with Down syndrome.
The response of Dawkins was: “Abort it and try again. It would be immoral to bring it into the world if you have the choice.”
As the parent of a child with Down syndrome, I would suggest an alternative headline: “People need to be protected from Dawkins”. – Yours, etc,
