Cones and other driving hazards

Sir, – I propose that the eating of whipped ice cream cones while driving be prohibited.

The approach to consuming this delicious drippy food item requires planning and diligence, much of which must be monitored by visual inspection to secure a uniform drip-free experience.

Upon reflection, it is obvious that the total absorption of such activity by a driver can manifestly contribute to driving negligence, since the driver is regularly distracted and can drive with only one hand. This activity has a parallel with the use of a mobile phone while driving.

I therefore suggest drivers be required to eat a whipped ice cream cone while the vehicle is stationary. – Yours, etc,
