Madam,- Good for Carol Coleman. She did not allow herself to be intimidated by George Bush. The reaction of the White House said it all.
In contrast our Government managed to adopt both a bullying attitude towards Carol Coleman and a grovelling and obsequious demeanour towards Bush. As far as our Government were concerned in any contest between a woman from the west of Ireland defending free speech and the most powerful man in the world there was no argument as to which side they were on.
Now if we could get Carol Coleman back here to ask our politicians some awkward questions that would be a welcome change. - Yours, etc.,
