Sir, - Is there any sensible reason why the fashion of fitting rigid steel plates and bars to the fronts of vehicles has been tolerated by the authorities? Calling these machismo fashion items "bull bars" is an obvious misnomer, as only an idiot could believe these vehicles driving around our cities are more likely to strike a bull than a pensioner or child.
