Sir, - Has RTÉ created another Hans Christian Andersen fable with the delusion that the Angelus is broadcast regularly?

As a constant patron of RTÉ I have never heard the Angelus prayer; I have heard what has been described as the Angelus bell, but in the absence of so describing it - in deference to the elements of our satanically secularised society - it might just as well be a ship's alarm signal.

Robin Bury (April 1st), in his flight from the Marian aspect of the Angelus, is obviously awakened to the prayerful aspect of the bell, albeit of a Protestant nature. Might I suggest therefore that he help to arrest the serious decline in faith in our country by complementing the Marian Angelus prayer with a comparable one of a Protestant nature and duration, both for the spiritual welfare of our people?

Presumably RTÉ and The Irish Times would wish to redeem their irreverent images by grasping at such an opportunity to help renew Ireland's Christian spirit? - Yours, etc.,
