Madam, – I note from various commentators on the Budget tax proposals that those lucky enough to draw salaries in excess of €174,980 will be better off under the new tax regime. Apart from the basic unfairness, does this mean that our Dear Leader’s vaunted salary reduction is yet another Fianna Fáil mirage and that his take home-pay will actually increase? – Yours, etc,
