Big win at Croke Park for the GAA

Madam, – I attended the Dublin-Tyrone match last Saturday night

Madam, – I attended the Dublin-Tyrone match last Saturday night. Although I am a Dubliner, it was my first time on Hill 16 and it was a breathtaking experience. The sheer professionalism of the stewards and the flawless organisation of the event was reflected in the crowd’s enjoyment. The fans on the hill were vibrant and joyous, even in defeat.

In these recessionary times Ireland demands and deserves sporting and community events at both community level and on a national scale. It was a fitting commemoration of 125 years of Irish sport. Hats off to the GAA! – Yours, etc,

EDEL RYAN,

Carrick on Shannon,
