Madam, - I write as a public servant of 30 years, who, like over 100,000 of my colleagues, is not deemed worthy of even a small increase under benchmarking.
I would urge the Taoiseach and Minister for Health to show some restraint in the current negotiations with the I.H.C.A. If they are not careful, between basic salary and allowances, consultants will be paid almost as well as politicians.
