Madam, - Bob Quinn (April 24th) seems to be under the impression that I have some kind of objection to political art. Nothing could be further from the truth.

But there's a big difference between a political artist and a politician who also happens to be an artist. As an ongoing government-supported experiment Aosdána is ultimately dependent on the goodwill of the taxpayers and can ill afford to be perceived to have drifted from its core mission and become a political lobby group. - Yours, etc,
