Sir, – If certain people in the FAI are willing to swallow their pride, surely Roy Keane is the obvious candidate to enter the recently opened trap-door? One of our all time great players, he learnt his trade under perhaps the most successful manager in history and, while captaining Ireland, always strived for perfection from himself and others.
There is no doubt he would bring his unarguably ferocious work ethic to the job with him and, with a string of trophies and personal honours to his name, he would certainly inspire respect from players under him . – Yours, etc,
