Sir, – I believe that an addiction to greed played a large part in the present financial turmoil. I find it astonishing that there has been no effort made to address this issue at political level.
The power of politics is to affect attitudes. It is obvious that greed pervaded the corporate culture in Ireland. There needs to be political will to address this problem.
Government has the power to sanction addiction awareness campaigns. It is time to sanction a campaign about addiction to greed. Our limited resources would be better spent on learning this lesson. – Yours, etc,
