Sir, – Hugh O’Regan took risks in business to create something good for others. In that way he was unlike many of his contemporaries during the Celtic Tiger years.
If his investments in the Hibernian Club on St Stephen’s Green and in Kilternan had succeeded, his philanthropy and contribution to education would have been lauded throughout this country and beyond.
I commend Simon Carswell for his article on Hugh O’Regan (Business, November 28th). He captured the essence of what was different about this inherently decent and generous man. – Yours, etc,
