A large and growing phenomenon

Sir, – Television programmes such as Reeling in the Years offer an interesting insight into our past. Look behind the events at the people. Ignore President Kennedy or Pope John Paul and look at the ordinary people around them. Look at the way we dressed, behaved and spoke. But more importantly, look at our size. If there were so few overweight people in Ireland 40 years ago, why are there so many now? – Yours, etc,
