A man has been pushed to his death in front of an oncoming New York subway train, the second such incident this month.
The New York Police Department today released CCTV of the female suspect. It shows the woman running from the elevated platform in the Queens section of New York City last night.
Witnesses tell police she had been following the man closely and mumbling to herself. She got up from a nearby bench and shoved him as the train pulled into the platform.
Ki-Suck Han was pushed in front of a train in Times Square on December 3rd. A photograph of him moments before the train hit him was published on the cover of the New York Post, causing an uproar.
Police said in the latest incident it did not appear the man noticed his attacker who was described as Hispanic, in her 20s and heavyset.
It was unclear if the man and the woman knew each other or if anyone tried to help the man before he was struck and killed at the station in the borough of Queens.
In the first incident, a homeless man, 30-year-old Naeem Davis, was charged with murder. He has pleaded not guilty and has said that Han had attacked him first. The two men had not met before.
The city’s subway carries more than 5.2 million passengers on an average weekday but deaths are rare.
