Woman reclaims cash left in charity curtains

The owner of the cash found inside the lining of a pair of curtains at a charity shop has claimed her money. The curtains had been donated to children’s charity Barnardos on Wednesday.

The woman returned to the charity shop in Rathmines, Dublin, yesterday to collect her “large sum” money.

The charity would not disclose the sum or comment on suggestions that it was in the order of several thousand euro.

She was recognised by the shop workers and was able to describe the unusual pattern of the donated curtains.

Barnardos said it was “completely satisfied” that she was the “rightful owner” of the cash.
