A woman who admitted carrying out a frenzied knife attack on a woman she thought had wronged her was jailed for two years yesterday after agreeing to go on probation for three years on her release.

Kathryn Linda Clarke (38), from Newtownards, pleaded guilty to attempting to unlawfully and maliciously wound the woman.

A Downpatrick Crown Court judge, Lord Justice McCollum, sitting in Belfast, said Clarke, who has a personality disorder, was high on drugs as she brooded over some wrong she felt her victim had done her and was in "a rather frenzied state" when she carried out the attack.
