Woman (25) stabbed in New Ross shop robbery

A 25-year-old woman was stabbed during the robbery of a shop in Co Wexford this afternoon.

A 25-year-old woman was stabbed during the robbery of a shop in Co Wexford this afternoon.

The shop assistant hand over the takings of the shop on Quay Street, New Ross to a lone robber who held up the premises at 2.15 p.m. The man stabbed the woman before running off, leaving her with serious injuries. She was taken to Waterford Regional Hospital.

Gardai say they believe the man was in the town for some time before the robbery and he was last seen on North Street.

He is described as having grey or black hair, with a beard and moustache.
