High winds and driving rain left a number of roads impassable yesterday.

Cork was among the worst-affected areas. Turners Cross and Hollyhill in the city were impassable due to flooding. A number of roads around Skib-bereen were also impassable. The fire brigade rescued motorists stuck in floods in Dunmanway.

In Co Roscommon, the road between Tulsk and Roscommon town was also impassable, as were a number of roads around the village of Carraiganbannow in Co Wexford.

In Limerick, the Clyde Road was flooded.
