A man tending a grave stumbled on arms and ammunition hidden in a Northern Ireland cemetery today.

A double-barrelled sawn-off shotgun,arevolver and a quantity of ammunition were discovered buried in a grave at Melmount Cemetery in Strabane, Co Tyrone.

The weapons and ammunition were packed into a 3ft long pipe buried between 3ft and 4ft deep into the ground.

The discovery was made at around 2.30 pm and Army bomb disposal experts were sent to the scene.
