Waterford claimed an historic Munster Under-21 football title this evening after defeating favourites Kerry at Walsh Park.

Pat Nugent's side appeared to be heading for defeat with Kerry leading by a point heading into injury time. However, a last minute Shane Walsh goal, punched into the Kerry net after a long Niall Hennessy ball into the danger area, delivered a first U-21 title for Waterford.

Waterford will also point to the penalty save from keeper David Hickey as one of the turning points in a match full of high drama.
