War protests planned

On Saturday, a march to the US embassy will leave St Stephen's Green (opposite Grafton Street) at 3 p.m. At a protest at the embassy Dr John de Courcy Ireland, chairman of the campaign, will be joined by Mr Michael O'Reilly of the ATGWU, Mr Joe Higgins TD of the Socialist Party, and members of the Labour Party, the Green Party and the Socialist Workers' Party.

There will be buses from around the country, North and South, to Dublin for the event.

In Galway next Wednesday, a demonstration will be held at a ceremony at which Mrs Hillary Clinton, wife of President Clinton, is to be granted the freedom of the city. Mrs Clinton is also due to deliver a speech on "The Quest For Peace". The protest will be held at 10 a.m. at the gate to the university in University Road.
