Winger Andrew Walker has been dropped from the Wallabies' squad to tour Europe this month because he missed training, the Australian Rugby Union (ARU) announced today.

ARU high performance coach Jeff Miller said Walker had been dropped to give him time to work out "a personal problem".

The winger, who walked out of Australia's camp on Thursday, said he was sad he couldn't make the tour.

"I've got a personal problem and I want to fix that," said Walker who has been in touch with the ARU since leaving the camp.

The world champions are scheduled to arrive in London on October 21st for their seven-match tour of England, Spain, France and Wales.

It is the second time that Walker has gone missing from the squad. In August the former rugby league international was dropped from the squad after missing a connecting flight from Sydney to Perth before the Tri-Nations match against South Africa.

Walker had left the team to visit his pregnant wife and family at their home near Canberra without telling the management.

Meanwhile the ARU have insisted there is "no panic" as they prepare for a tour to Europe later this month.

The Wallabies' rugby league counterparts recently shelved plans for an Ashes tour to Britain after the start of air strikes in Afghanistan but national coach Eddie Jones is encouraged by security precautions in Europe.
