Over 80 volunteers yesterday joined the search for the body of missing east Clare man Joseph O'Callaghan along a 35-mile stretch of the Co Clare coastline.
The 34-year-old Tulla man is one of three craftsmen who were reported missing last week after their Suzuki Vitara vehicle plunged 70ft into the sea at Doonagore Bay shortly after 10am on Monday, October 31st.
The bodies of his two friends, Martin Griffin (24), from Ennis, and Michael Doran (31), from Broadford but originally from Co Waterford, have been recovered from the sea a short distance from Doonagore Bay.
Assistant State Pathologist Dr Michael Curtis yesterday visited the scene at Doolin where the vehicle containing the three men is believed to have plunged into the sea one kilometre south of Doolin.
Last night, Dr Curtis was carrying out a postmortem on Mr Doran's body at Limerick's Mid-Western Regional Hospital. Mr Doran's body was recovered by members of the Doolin Rescue Coast Guard Unit at 8.30am on Monday, at Trá Lathan, 150m from Doonagore Bay.
High winds and rough seas again hampered the search yesterday for Mr O'Callaghan's body off the Co Clare coast and the search was restricted to the shoreline from Blackhead Head, south of Ballyvaughan to Liscannor.
Some 80 volunteers were joined by the 18-strong Doolin Rescue Coast Guard Unit and gardaí.
