The group representing relatives and victims of the 1974 Dublin and Monaghan bombings had its first meeting with an inter-departmental committee to consider the report of the Victims' Commission.

The commission last week recommended the appointment of a former Supreme Court judge to inquire privately into the bombings, which killed 33 people and injured over 400. The findings will be made public.
