Vandals rampage in south Antrim

More than a dozen cars were damaged today in a spate of vandalism in the Lisburn and Dunmurry areas.

More than a dozen cars were damaged today in a spate of vandalism in the Lisburn and Dunmurry areas.

Police said the cars had been targeted over several hours from 3am. All had side windows shattered and the handbrakes released.

The vehicles were damaged when they were rammed into other cars, smashed into walls, driveway gate posts and trees.

Much of the damage was discovered by unsuspecting car owners when they got up in the morning to discover their car was not where they left it.

Detectives said they believed the same people were responsible for all the damage and appealed for any witnesses to the vandalism to contact them.

A spokesman said there were no arrests or reports of injury.
