US President GeorgeW. Bush condemned a massive truck bombing that ripped throughthe United Nations headquarters in Baghdad today andvowed: "The civilized world will not be intimidated."
Mr Bush, speaking to reporters at his ranch, pledgedassistance to the United Nations for the recovery effort.
"These killers will not determine the future of Iraq," Mr Bushsaid. "Iraq is on an irreversible course toward self-governmentand peace. And America and our friends in the United Nationswill stand with the Iraqi people."
