Washington - The US government imposed sanctions yesterday on more than 300 Indian and Pakistani government agencies and private companies for alleged nuclear and military ties.

Under the sanctions, the targeted agencies and companies would be barred from buying US goods that might have nuclear or other military applications, the Commerce Department said. "Commerce Department licenses will be required for exports to the entities listed, and most licenses will be denied," the department added.
