Manchester United's trio of injured superstars are in line for a return to Old Trafford action tomorrow with Roy Keane, David Beckham and Rio Ferdinand all set to play against Birmingham after coming back from injury.

Club captain Keane, fit again after hip surgery, started his first match since August 31st in the 3-1 defeat by Middlesbrough on Saturday and came through without any reaction.

Beckham is in line for a return to the starting line-up after being on the bench for the last two matches, both of which United have lost.

Ferdinand, who came on as a substitute against Boro, is likely to return to the centre of defence if Mikael Silvestre fails to recover from a neck injury.

Silvestre was missed yesterday with his replacement Laurent Blanc at fault on Boro's second goal.

Birmingham will be without Steve Vickers, who has been sidelined for two weeks due to the gashed ankle inflicted by Wayne Rooney's boot in Thursday's match against Everton.

Fellow defender Darren Purse is struggling with his own ankle problems and Ivory Coast international Olivier Tebily is out for three months after rupturing a cruciate ligament in his knee.

Birmingham's problems do not stop in their defence. Midfielders Damien Johnson and Jovan Kirovski are bidding to shake off back and hamstring problems respectively while striker Geoff Horsfield has a groin strain.
