Members of Irish Equity Group and the Musicians Union of Ireland have expressed dismay at the decision to close the Andrews Lane Theatre and Studios in Dublin.

"For nearly twenty years - by virtue of its city centre location and easy accessibility - Andrews Lane Theatre has played a vital role in the cultural life of Dublin," said Irish Equity Group President, Padraig Murray.

"This theatre has also been instrumental in bringing to the public many internationally acclaimed and successful productions including 'Stones in His Pockets' by Marie Jones, 'Alone It Stands' by John Breen and 'Twelve Angry Men' by Reginald Rose", he said.
